Description PRINCIPLE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: As material handler, you will be responsible for unloading inbound material, maintaining stock in the supermarket and transferring stock and materials to fulfill customer orders. The ideal candidate for the material handler position is a diligent worker who can complete tasks successfully with little to no guidance. Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties. Be a meticulous owner of the materials process with proper transactions and transfers in QAD Ability to understand and follow information on Kanban cards and pull replenishment systems Stage products based on customer orders; assist in filling customer orders. Sort shipments during loading or unloading process and mark containers with identifying information. Stack shipments in specific locations using pallets or other specified container. Document the numbers of units handled or moved each day using production sheets. Utilize protective devices—padding, straps, etc.—to prevent damage to items during transport. Use assistive devices—slings, hooks, etc.—to lift and guide material. Operate machinery such as booms, cameras, cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and stock. Dump scrap steel. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Basic Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time. Availability to work overtime hours as needed. High school diploma required. Preferred Qualifications: Professional attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. Self-motivated, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Understand how to set and meet deadlines. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift certification strongly preferred.
