Material Handler Position Overview The Material Handler maintains material requirements for all production needs. A Material Handler in a manufacturing setting is responsible for the timely and efficient movement of raw materials, components, and finished products within the production facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the production process runs Material Handler Essential Functions * Reads production schedule and determines material requirements for production. * Moves materials and containers from storage or work sites to designated areas to meet requirements of production schedule. * Identifies materials and containers with suitable tags or labels. * Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment to assist operators. * Loads loose materials into hoppers and containers. * Mix materials according to product requirements. * Performs other duties that may be assigned. Material Handler Required Experience * Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers. * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. * Frequently required walking and reaching with hands and arms. * Occasionally required to climb or balance. * Able to operate forklift. Material Handler Physical Demands and Work Environment * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. * Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds. * Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms. * Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk, and hear. * Ability to use hand tools. * Ability to read applicable instructions.
