Description The 2nd Shift Material Handler (M-F 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm) delivers supplies/products to and from customers in a prompt and courteous manner by performing the following duties: 1. Operates company vehicle in a professional, safe, and courteous manner. 2. Picks up merchandise and invoices from warehouse/vendors. 3. Delivers merchandise to customers in a timely manner. 4. Ensures delivery of appropriate merchandise in accordance with customer invoices. 5. Ensures delivery vehicles are clean and in good working condition. 6. Performs daily maintenance checks and reports malfunctions to management. 7. Ensures customer messages/communications are relayed to appropriate management. 8. Returns credit merchandise with appropriate paperwork and informs management of delivery. 9. Assists in always maintaining a neat and clean workplace. 10. Assists with stocking the shipping and receiving department to include lifting and carrying cartons and placing them on appropriate shelves. 11. Reports overstock occurrences to management immediately. Reports on some items to logistics as needed and when requested. 12. Fills delivery orders by obtaining the required merchandise and completing appropriate paperwork. 13. Provides customer with receipt and/or credit form for merchandise to be picked up. 14. Reports to immediate supervisor every day and reports to logistics manager on most tasks. 15. Responsible for exchanging and moving all carts. 16. Is responsible for counting returnables (sleeves) and reporting this number to immediate supervisor and logistics manager. 17. Other duties may be assigned. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in operating material-handling equipment required. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
