JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a Material Handler 3 to join our dynamic team at Petmate. To be a successful Material Handler 3, the candidate must be able to “get things done” and effectively perform warehousing and fulfillment activities including order pulling, stocking, truck loading/unloading with manual equipment, receiving, cycle counting, packing or shipping.  The Material Handler 3 is expected to perform these tasks at posted standards for the warehouse, for productivity for each function and to perform the task with a high degree of accuracy and quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Key Responsibilities: * Utilize the Company Vision statement as the primary guide for decision making. Support and encourage behavior that reflects the term "customer" refers to dealers, suppliers, and all company employees.  * Work within Petmate’s safety policies and safety programs in a uniform and consistent manner so that employee injuries and illnesses can be prevented and compliance with federal, state and local regulations can be achieved.  * Follow proper lifting techniques including team lifting when items are too heavy for individual lifting.  * Assist in maintaining a clean, organized facility through diligent housekeeping efforts.  Employees are required to assist in keeping aisles open and free of trash as well as picking up after themselves. * Use computer and other devices provided in warehouse automation systems with care, report any unsafe or malice activities that could damage the automation or computer systems.  * Security - every employee is considered to be a member of the distribution center security team and as such has responsibility for the security and integrity of the premises, equipment, inventory, and company information.    * Employees must be flexible in work hours available including overtime and be able to respond to varying workloads without prior notice. Report to work every day, on time, as scheduled.  * This position is responsible for effectively performing warehouse and fulfillment activities and also be able to operate all types of equipment such as an electric pallet jack/rider jack or stand-up forklift in multiple areas listed below:   * Order pulling  * Stocking/Putaway/Replenishment  * Truck loading/unloading  * Picking & Packing   * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.  SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  Requirements: * Highly customer focused  * Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality  * Well organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment  * Ability to learn and utilize RF devices  Education/Experience: * High school diploma or GED(preferred). * 1+year of electric pallet jack or stand-up forklift experience  PHYSICAL DEMANDS  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
