POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Knowledge

  • Completion of Secondary Education or Equivalent (Asset)
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • A Forklift Certificate (may be obtained through employment)

Skills

  • Physical strength is required for manual material handling
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Experience

  • 2 year of related experience in Material Handling, Shipping & Receiving

Responsibilities
  • Ship, receive and record the movement of parts, supplies, materials and stock with attention to accuracy
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Inside and outside material handling
  • Sorts and quality controls incoming materials
  • Handle, move, load and unload materials by hand or material handling equipment
  • Inventory activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking
  • Operate (and inspect) material handling equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles to the warehouse and yard
  • Opening containers and crates, fill orders, assist in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials
  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually and/or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
  • Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage and staging areas
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers
  • Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity
  • Clean truss surfaces and inspections as required
  • Comfortable in a fast paced working environment
  • Other duties as assigned
