Description The Materials Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. This role ensures inventory is properly received, stored, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner, supporting production schedules and customer orders. Receive incoming materials, verify contents, and inspect for damage or discrepancies. Accurately, label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations. Pick and stage raw materials or components for production orders. Transport materials to and from storage, production areas, or shipping docks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning or ERP systems. Prepare outbound shipments including packing, labeling, and documentation. Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory. Follow proper safety procedures and comply with OSHA and company policies. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Assist with loading/unloading trucks and verifying shipment accuracy. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role preferred Basic math and reading skills Familiarity with inventory systems, barcoding, or ERP software is a plus Good organizational skills and attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods Forklift certification or ability to become certified Warehouse or production floor environment May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) Exposure to varying temperatures depending on facility conditions May involve shift work, weekends, or overtime depending on business needs
