Description JOB TITLE: Material Handler – Controls DEPARTMENT: 140 Ops - Controls REPORTS TO: Senior Compliance Manager JOB SUMMARY: The Material Handler - Controls is responsible for completing inventory related tasks in the Controls department, such as pulling and preparing shipments of approved returnable items for credit, scanning items approved for destruction to disposal boxes, performing put away functions for returnable items, cycle counts and other related duties as needed. The Material Handler - Controls will spend most of their day in a controlled substance areas performing inventory related duties and lifting/moving product. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PRIMARY DUTIES Put away functions for all controlled substances. Prepare shipments of returnable items to ship out for credit Assist with the coordination and shipping of DEA controlled substances. Assist Authorization Department assuring POD and DEA controlled substance orders are properly pulled and coordinated. Coordinate and execute movement of DEA controlled substances using the turret truck and forklift. Processing waste pallets to assure inventory documentation and associated discrepancy reports are accurate and complete. Perform regular cycle counts of bin locations in the vault and controlled substance storage areas. Complete monthly future date pull procedures for all controlled substances. Assist with biennial inventory/year-end inventory cycle counting Other related duties as assigned by management Work with Senior Compliance Manager to Implement KPI for shipping and accumulation areas. SECONDARY DUTIES Provide on-site witness for destruction of DEA controlled substances. Assist controlled substance processors with receiving validation. Support PharmaLink employee training initiatives. Perform other tasks as assigned by DEA Controlled Substance Manager. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1-2 Years of Shipping / Receiving experience in a pharmaceutical, distribution, or packaging manufacturing facility. Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel), UPS WorldShip and other common carrier shipping technology platforms. Experience working with warehousing equipment (ex: pallet jack, forklift, turret truck, cherry picker, etc.). Knowledge of personal safety equipment; and how to utilize. Valid Florida driver’s license. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to receive and implement direction/work instruction from manager/supervisor. Proficient problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task. Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals from multiple departments within the organization. Great attitude and desire to work as a team towards shared company goals. Dependable transportation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Capable of standing, walking, reaching, and bending for up to 8 hours a day, with breaks. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Note: Assistance is available upon request for lifting packages that exceed 40 lbs. or that are in unstable condition. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma (required) Experience with controlled substance or waste materials. (preferred, but will train if necessary) Experience with warehouse quality systems, Six Sigma, etc. (preferred but not required) A two-year Technical or Associate Degree. (preferred but not required) Without a formal degree or relevant training, this position requires a minimum of 1 year employment with PLI and recommendation from manager/supervisor.
