We are seeking an experienced, ambitious Material Handler. This position will be directly responsible for optimal and efficient material flow of all assigned work areas. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage movement of incoming and outgoing raw materials, components, and finished goods at the injection mold machines Complete material, color, and cell layout / equipment changes for all scheduled changeovers Maintain plant housekeeping activities such as sweeping, mopping, trash detail, spill cleanup, grinder clean outs, and hopper cleanouts. Transport and store finished goods in proper warehouse area Monitor regrind usage Ensure proper labeling of all materials including tracking of partial raw material gaylords and concentrate drums Obtain knowledge of different plastics such as poly, nylon, ABS, PE, HDPE, and more Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently, and safely in a busy manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability to multi task in a fast past environment Must be able to read, follow and perform tasks outlined by work instructions Must pass written and performance test for operating a hi-lo 2+ years’ experience in a plastics manufacturing environment performing similar duties preferred Knowledge of IATF production and quality control practices preferred Experience training others preferred Prior experience contributing to continuous improvement and safety initiatives preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position is located in a manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time, in addition to lifting up to 50lbs.
Responsibilities
The Material Handler is responsible for the optimal and efficient flow of all assigned materials, managing the movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods at injection mold machines. This includes completing material and layout changes for scheduled changeovers and maintaining general plant housekeeping activities.
