Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler I in Burbank, CA.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Material Handler I is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, counting, tracking, issuing, and shipping a variety of production parts, materials and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time in order to meet on-time-delivery goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant electronics manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS Office. Willingness to work extended hours and Saturdays in order to meet customer’s needs.
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with manufacturing software tools
Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.
  • Move materials to and from receiving, production areas and shipping by hand, using sorting bins and carts, or other equipment
  • Unpack, receive, and stock materials into storeroom location(s)
  • Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cell work
  • Issue critical materials to production cells
  • Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts, as needed
  • Respond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely manner
  • Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirements
  • Aid and/or Backfill coworkers, as needed to complete daily tasks
  • Ensure compliance with export compliance rules
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
