Overview Job Summary: The Material Handler II is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of materials and inventory within a warehouse or distribution center. This may consist of specific tasks within the warehouse or distribution center, such as but not limited to receiving, picking, packing, shipping, conveyor operator, labeling, kitting, and other areas. Responsibilities Key Accountabilities Unloading incoming shipments, verifying inventory against purchase orders, and properly storing materials in designated locations. Using handcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment to move materials around the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring efficient flow of goods. Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, identifying, and cataloging materials, and ensuring proper storage practices. Completing and recording cycle counts by accurately counting, logging products, locations, and identifying any discrepancies on the cycle count sheets. Picking and packing orders, preparing shipments for delivery, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain inventory and ordering of operating supplies for warehouse or distribution center. Ability to work independently and self-sufficient within the warehouse or distribution. Partners with other colleagues in the scheduling of loading and unloading trucks. Following safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and reporting any issues or concerns. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Networking/Key relationships Distribution and Logistics team Customer Service Manufacturing Supply Chain Facilities Qualifications Minimum Knowledge & Experience for the position: High school diploma or equivalent Three years of previous warehouse or distribution center experience Proven knowledge and experience in at least three different areas of the warehouse or distribution center Previous experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks preferred Management has the discretion of substituting or making exceptions regarding education and/or years of experience requirement. Skills & Capabilities: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials, often requiring repetitive motions Working knowledge in Microsoft 365 programs, specifically Word, Excel, Teams Accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment. Utilizing intermediate working knowledge of SAP and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and handheld devices such as scanners Ability to follow instructions, communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and work effectively in a team environment.
