Description The Role and Responsibilities As a Material Handler, reporting directly to the Finished Goods Logistics Supervisor, your role is essential to the efficient flow of finished goods and materials throughout the warehouse and shipping areas. You are responsible for accurately managing inventory, ensuring timely movement of products, and supporting outbound logistics and warehousing operations. Your focus includes staging and organizing finished goods for shipment and maintaining accurate records through the use of handheld scanners and inventory systems. Your reliability and attention to detail play a key role in ensuring that the company’s distribution and delivery goals are met with accuracy and timeliness. Your Key Areas of Impact Finished Goods Handling and Shipping: You are responsible for the staging, labelling, and preparation of finished products for shipment in accordance with shipping schedules and customer specifications. Using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, you ensure that outbound goods are properly secured and organized for loading. Working closely with the Finished Goods Logistics Supervisor, you follow established loading and inventory control procedures, ensuring that shipments are accurate and completed on time. You use handheld scanners and inventory software to track goods and update records in real time. Quality Sample Collection Support: In collaboration with the quality assurance team and under direction from the logistics supervisor, you assist in quarantining product in our warehouse that fails to meet customer specifications. Your accuracy and consistency support the company’s quality control standards and readiness for audits. Material Movement and Inventory Control: You support the movement of materials and finished goods throughout the facility, transferring inventory between staging, production, and storage areas as directed. You receive incoming products into inventory systems, verify documentation, and report discrepancies promptly. You help maintain optimal inventory accuracy by organizing materials logically, segregating items by type or lot, and performing routine cycle counts. Your contributions help prevent production or shipment delays caused by inventory shortages or misplacements. Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, you contribute to a safe working environment in both receiving and finished goods handling areas. Your commitment to proper housekeeping and compliance with safety regulations ensures that you and your colleagues can work safely, minimizing the risk of accidents around moving mechanical parts and other hazards. Requirements You’ve received your High School Diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a material handler in a manufacturing work environment. You are forklift certified or have the ability to become certified within 30 days of hire. Experience using handheld scanners and computers for inventory control is preferred. You will work with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. After training, this role will transition to a 5:30pm - 5:30am, 3-4-4-3 shift schedule, including every other weekend. Under this schedule, you will work 3 days the first week and 4 days the next, repeating on a rotating basis. The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel Your work is conducted in a dynamic manufacturing setting where exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures is common, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. This job requires remaining in a stationary position 10% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and moving about inside the facility. The ability to discern various sounds and alarms is crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency. This job requires operating a computer and/or handheld scanner 50% of the time. This job requires the ability to be able to lift to 40 lbs.
