Description Position Description The Material Handler transports materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations and performs other tasks pertinent to the department. Responsibilities: Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations. Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids). Resolve issues with contractors or vendors when problems arise. Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. Review shipments for quality and accuracy and review accompanying documents for accuracy. Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule. Validate, approve, and forward invoices to accounting department. Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Efficient time management skills. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time. Wear safety gear (such as goggles and gloves) when handling box cutters or similar tools. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must always be used including safety glasses and safety shoes. Safety shoes with composite toe reinforcement required.
