Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse and production areas. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring timely delivery of materials to designated work areas and maintaining inventory accuracy. Responsibilities Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or defects. Store materials in assigned locations following established storage methods and safety protocols. Deliver raw materials and components to production workstations as scheduled. Prepare materials for shipment, including packing, labeling, and staging for pickup. Maintain inventory records by updating ERP or inventory management systems. Assist with cycle counts and year-end physical inventories. Follow all safety rules and procedures, including proper PPE usage and forklift safety practices. Keep work areas, aisles, and storage locations clean and organized. Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or damaged goods to supervisors promptly. Support special projects, cross-training, and other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED required 1 -2 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment preferred Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation in English required. Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Must maintain forklift and/or other required equipment certifications. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours) Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.) Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
