Description NASL is seeking a Material Handler who will be responsible for ensuring continuous production flow by keeping equipment supplied with materials, managing inventory accurately, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe plant environment. This role plays a critical part in maximizing machine uptime and supporting overall manufacturing efficiency. Responsibilities include: Equipment Support & Material Flow Deliver raw materials, components, and packaging to production lines according to schedules and operator requests. Monitor material levels at machines and replenish proactively to prevent downtime. Remove finished goods, scrap, and WIP from equipment and transport to designated locations. Utilize forklifts, hand jacks, and various carts to move materials throughout the facility. Assist operators in basic setups or material changes as needed (within training and safety guidelines). Assist with Shipping and receiving practices as required. Palletizing, packaging, and labeling customer shipments according to customer specifications Inventory Management Perform daily counts of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to maintain accurate inventory levels. Use ERP or barcode systems to record material movements, pick orders, and update on-hand quantities. Use ERP system to print labels and keep raw material labels current. Stage materials for upcoming jobs and ensure proper rotation and use of inventory. Communicate shortages, overages, or material issues to supervisors and purchasing. Support incoming material inspections and storage of deliveries. Plant Cleanliness & Organization Designate material staging locations throughout the facility for raw materials, WIP, packaging and pallets, and finished goods. Maintain clean and orderly work areas including aisles, material racks, docks, and production zones. Consolidate WIP Inventory to reduce the number of pallets and or carts on the floor. Remove debris, scrap, and recyclables according to plant procedures. Perform routine sweeping, pallet organization, and waste disposal. Support 5S initiatives (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Safety & Compliance Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout guidelines when applicable. Report unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisors immediately. Participate in safety trainings and audits. Requirements Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required One year experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment One year forklift experience Skills & Competencies Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools safely and efficiently Attention to detail and commitment to quality relating to material transactions and placement Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and production schedules Basic math and measurement skills Cooperative attitude and ability to problem solve with others Basic computer skills(Word, Xcel, Email) Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks Work in warm environments non-air conditioned environments Ability to bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift Work Environment Industrial manufacturing floor with moderate to high noise and heat levels May require working in shifts, overtime, or weekends as production demands Wood and other material dust.
