Description This position plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our plastic bag manufacturing plant. This position involves the safe and effective handling, storage, and transportation of raw materials and finished products throughout the facility. The Material Handler will ensure that materials are available for production, assist in inventory management, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Safely load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products using forklifts and pallet jacks. Monitor inventory levels and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Assist in organizing storage areas for easy access and efficient workflow. Inspect incoming materials for quality and conformity to specifications. Report defects or discrepancies to supervisors promptly. Maintain records of material inspections and quality issues. Work with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules. Assist team members with material handling tasks to promote a collaborative environment. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding material needs. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and contribute to safety meetings. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to management. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, following 5S principles. Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage and facilitate easy access. Regularly clean and maintain equipment and handling tools. Complete necessary documentation for material receipts and movements accurately. Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on material handling equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management promptly. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities “KSA”) · High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is advantageous. · Basic understanding of material handling processes and equipment. · Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment. · Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. · Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred). · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. · Attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in material handling and inventory management. · Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs]) and perform physical tasks for extended periods. · Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. · Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
