Furlong Steel Industries is looking for an experienced full-time Shipper Receiver/Material Handler / Forklift Operator for our Shop and Yard

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 Year Minimum Overhead Crane Experience – valid ticket required
• 1 Year minimum Forklift Experience – valid ticket required
• Mobile Crane Experience is an asset
• Class 5 driver’s license is an asset, proof of which will be required prior to being authorized to operate a company Class 5 vehicle
• Fall restraint is an asset.

• Understands and ensures consistent compliance with company policy, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Understands the basics of load securement, working around equipment, and the role of the material handler
• Receive materials with accuracy. Knowledge of Pipe and Structural Materials an asset.
• Perform daily equipment checks
• To repeatedly handle heavy lifting and carrying in a fast-paced work environment.
• Safely uses tools and equipment.
• Efficiently completes internal safety documentation with a keen attention to detail.
• Work with other equipment operators to load/un-load/move materials
• Takes direction well, able to produce quality work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
