Description SUMMARY Stages, ships, and receives loads on a daily basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Does complete safety checklist on lift truck, combi, or crane before beginning shift. Reads pick list or follows oral instructions to ascertain material or containers to be moved. Flags materials designated for shipping using pick list. Stages materials from storage or work sites to designated area for staging. Consolidates material in finished goods area and scans it into the location. Checks material tag number and matches material number on pick list. Checks for proper tag placement. Operates Fork Lifts, Combi Lift, overhead cranes and banding equipment. Inspects material for defects and follows appropriate measures for scarfing, dents, rust and packaging. Lifts heavy objects with forklift/crane and cleans work area. Any non-conforming material will be brought to the supervisor’s attention for disposition. Loads flatbed trailers/box vans with forklift/combi/crane. Clean or repackage damaged bundles or bundles that have rust/scarfing. Receive, verify, and tag incoming loads. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Proven experience with forklifts and crane operation is a plus. Less than high school education; or at least 10th grade education or equivalent; up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified Forklift and Crane Operation Training.
