Description

Sloan StoneDESIGN is a local countertop fabricator manufacturing high quality quartz, granite, and porcelain countertops. We are a company that has successfully dedicated our time and effort to setting the standard for high quality stone from fabrication to installation. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler with experience in Shipping and Receiving to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of materials, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping products. The ideal candidate will also assist with photo station operations, machine setups, and help maintain the stone gallery to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
In addition to material handling, this role includes following the production schedule and supplying materials to the fabrication department in a timely manner. During winter months, responsibilities include snow removal and the application of ice melt to maintain safe working and walking areas.
We value team-oriented individuals who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Must also be able to work the occasional Saturdays. Overtime pay will be compensated according to ESA standards.
This position is all season- requires functioning indoors and outdoors on the forklift. Shop floors are wet- we provide steel toe rubber boots.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in material handling, shipping, or receiving
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems or ERP software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Willingness to assist in various warehouse, production, and facility maintenance tasks as needed
  • Availability during winter months to assist with snow and ice removal duties

Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments: verify contents, inspect for damage, and match items to packing slips or purchase orders
  • Process and document incoming and outgoing shipments using inventory software
  • Prepare items for shipment by picking, packing, labeling, and staging in accordance with shipping requirements
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
  • Operate photo station equipment to capture and catalog images of materials/products as required
  • Assist with machine setups in coordination with production or fabrication teams
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stone gallery and other storage/display areas
  • Supply material to the fabrication department according to the daily production schedule
  • Assist with snow removal and application of ice melt on walkways, loading docks, and work areas during winter months
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and ensure materials are stored in the proper locations
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations
  • Follow all safety policies and participate in ongoing safety training
