Material Handler Job Description   Reports to: Warehouse Manager Department: 60 – Material Handling Worker Category: Full-time FLSA: Non-Exempt   About PDQ PDQ Manufacturing is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania–based manufacturer of commercial door hardware, serving a wide range of architectural and institutional markets. Our product offerings include architectural commercial-grade mortise locks, cylindrical locks, deadbolts, hinges, door closers, exit devices, flat goods, and electronic locking solutions. PDQ is committed to quality craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and a safe, respectful workplace.   Position Summary Material Handlers are responsible for ensuring production lines are continuously supplied with the materials needed to fulfill customer orders. This role involves pulling materials from warehouse inventory, delivering supplies to production areas, staging finished goods, and maintaining accurate inventory records through proper system transactions.   Material Handlers are dependable, safety-conscious, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a willingness to cross-train and support the broader production team are essential for success in this role.   Essential Functions • Pull orders from inventory and deliver production materials and supplies to the appropriate workstations and staging areas. • Stage finished products for final distribution in an orderly and organized manner. • Maintain inventory accuracy by identifying, labeling, and properly storing materials and supplies, and recording inventory locations. • Complete accurate system location transfer transactions to ensure real-time inventory integrity. • Verify and document materials and supplies pulled against production orders, recording units delivered and storage locations. • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move items throughout the facility. • Assist Receiving and Quality team members to support timely and accurate material management. • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Cross-train and assist Production as needed to support overall operational goals. • Other duties as assigned.   Qualifications • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. • Previous stock, inventory, or warehouse experience a plus. • Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack a plus. • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities and customer demands. • Professional, positive, and solutions-oriented demeanor.  • Demonstrates respect for coworkers, equipment, and company property.  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.  • Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production equipment, or the ability to learn quickly.  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  • Strong verbal communication skills.  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.  • Process improvement mindset and attention to detail.    Work Environment • Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week.
