Summary The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site. Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices. Receives, processes and tags incoming material Moves inventory materials to their respective area Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in process Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order Qualifications The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties. Minimum Qualifications Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing Ability to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes Ability to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished Preferred Qualifications Materials or warehouse experience One + years’ work experience as a material handler in an industrial setting Experience driving a forklift or other heavy equipment Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
