Hours for this position are typically: 1st shift - 6:00am-2:00pm *Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays) * WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU: Starting pay of $20.00/hour Weekly pay 10 paid holidays Full benefits WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION: Strong work ethic Positive attitude Consistent attendance Willingness to learn Safety minded ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Material Handler Coil Receiver is responsible for unloading, inspecting, and documenting incoming material shipments (like steel or aluminum coils, blanks), operating heavy machinery (forklifts, cranes) to move and store them, staging them for production, and performing cycle counts, with a strong focus on safety due to the weight and sharp edges of the materials. Key duties include verifying shipments against purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper storage, and keeping the receiving area clean and organized. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility. Load and unload materials from trucks, checking shipments against packing slips/Pos. Inspect incoming coils for damage and ensures correct material is being received. Accurately stage, label, and document inventory transactions using scanners or manual logs. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, charging batteries, replacing propane tanks). Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with company safety standards (5S). Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment malfunctions. Support production flow by communicating material and container shortages or delays to supervisors. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ability to take direction, coaching, and act positively to improve performance. Assumes additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the primary scope of the role. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire (sit-down). Minimum 6 months of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal stamping facility preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions, shipping documents, and safety guidelines. Basic computer and/or scanner skills for inventory tracking.
