Description GENERAL PURPOSE: General warehouse labor job responds to instructions provided on bills of material and shipping documents. Licensed to operate a powered forklift truck to move, stack, and load or unload materials in and about the plant, warehouse, staging area, etc. Utilizing banding and shrink wrap machines. May use bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product as it is moved. RESPONSIBILITIES: Loads and unloads material within warehouse or storage / production facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, conveyors, or other handing equipment to move material within the facility. Maintains consistent feed of material into presses. Properly label finished goods and stage material accordingly. Checks incoming deliveries to make sure ordered materials meet quality standards Monitors inventory levels and suggest new orders when needed Provides breaks to operators Performs forklift inspections Works overtime as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Able to abide by all safety policies including LOTO Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to follow demonstrated instructions. Previous experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position in a manufacturing environment preferred. Attention to detail and situational awareness. Effective and efficient time management, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Good communications skills, team oriented, self-motivated, attention to detail. Good organizational skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Should be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the plant and warehouse using forklifts and other handling equipment. They must also maintain material feeds for presses, label finished goods, and monitor inventory levels.
