POSITION SUMMARY The Material Handler is responsible for fulfilling customer orders in a timely, efficient, safe, and accurate manner with minimal to no damage of customer freight. This is including, but not limited to, receiving inbound freight, sorting, processing, picking of product, and loading of outbound finished goods material. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Physically moving product as requested, with a sit-down forklift, around the dock for customer’s orders or projects Quality Control checks utilizing infrared scan guns, to ensure order accuracy Safe handling of material and product for customer orders or projects Requirements OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: Additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma / GED 2+ years sit-down forklift experience PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 2+ Years of open dock/warehouse experience RF Scan gun experience REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Verbal and written communication in English with Operations Dock Personnel and Management Must be willing to work overtime (either coming in early or staying late). and potential Saturday work, dependent upon customer/business needs. Regular and predictable attendance Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. (Equipment or team lift required if beyond 50 lbs) Attention to detail for verifying order details when picking/packing customer orders May be bi-lingual, but must be able to read, write, and speak English PREFERRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Ability to Multi-task Team-oriented Strong attention to detail PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to dress appropriately depending on weather conditions. Ability to withstand possible extreme cold or heat conditions.
