Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION / OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As a Material Management Apprentice you will work within the Material Management team focusing on stock inventory and on time deliveries for a wide range of customer segments. You will learn skills in managing stock, forecasting and analysing vendor performance. You will be assisting colleagues with the operations within the Material Management Division.
As part of the Apprenticeship you will study and work towards a Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (If required) and a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. The college learning will be based at one of the Abingdon & Witney based colleges. The duration will be 15 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment. It will be delivered via work-based training with your employer, 10 days professional training at college and Approximately 12 on-site or/and Teams assessment visits per year. If you have to complete the Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English you will be required at college for 7 days for each subject. Lastly, Off the job training will count for at least 6 hours a week of an apprentice’s time at work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a teamwork approach to working with colleagues. Working as part of a multi-function team ensuring customers are kept informed of any delays or developments as soon as possible.
  • Managing and delivering parts on time, on budget, and to regulatory standards (KPI’s - OTR/OTD: On Time Request, On Time Delivery).
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer and business needs to ensure smooth on-time delivery.
  • Reporting project status, schedules, and actions accurately.
  • Demonstrate appropriate Commercial awareness in all business activities ensuring that AHUK’s commercial position is adequately safeguarded at all times.
  • Ensure authorisation of business transactions, customer quotations, purchase orders and charging instructions within Company Policy and deadlines.
  • To maintain departmental administrative systems and provide accurate documentation in order that support functions can operate efficiently i.e. cost file maintenance, product description database, invoice queries.
  • To assist in providing regular reports on progress of investigations and work in progress to internal/external customers.
  • Enhancing customer satisfaction through active contribution.
  • To ensure adherence to the Airbus Code of Conduct.
  • As our business evolves, the job requirements will also evolve accordingly. You may occasionally need to perform tasks similar to your role, as instructed by the Team Leaders.
