Description
About the role The role is responsible for coordinating the efficient flow of materials for shipbuilding projects. This includes ensuring all materials are accurately estimated, procured, delivered, and available on time to support continuous production. The role works closely with the Design, Supply Chain, and Production teams to align material readiness with project schedules and quality standards. Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to: List and quantify construction materials based on design, supply chain data, and project requirements Create and maintain order lists, including status, requisitions, ETAs, stock IDs, quantities, and certifications Track deliveries and manage onsite receipt and inspection of materials Conduct inventory audits and maintain accurate stock records Oversee safe transport, storage, and distribution of all materials, including hazardous items Manage warehouse dispatches and ensure alignment with production schedules and work packs Support calibration scheduling and maintain compliance records Forecast material requirements and coordinate with suppliers on procurement status Develop and distribute Work Packs with drawings, cut lists, schedules, and material allocations Support waste management initiatives, including segregation, recycling, and reporting Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards Required Skills / Experience / Attributes: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field Experience in shipbuilding, ship sustainment, or manufacturing Strong background in material planning, cost control, and scheduling Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP experience (e.g., IFS) is an advantage Knowledge of material certifications, hazardous material handling, and ISO standards is a plus.
