Responsibilities:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: 3-5 years

  • Managerial Experience: 0-3 years

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree BA/BS
  • Degree Field: Business management, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Equivalent Experience/Education: 5-7 years of Production Planning, Purchasing or Expediting
  • Communication Skills: Intermediate
  • Mathematical Skills: Intermediate

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  2. ERP Experience
  3. JIS/JIT manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

Supports the Purchasing Team through managing subordinates, developing shipment plans and improvements for cost efficiency.

  • Determines the classification of products using:
  • The Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) according to General Rules of Interpretation (GRI’S)
  • Binding Rulings
  • Explanatory Notes
  • Informed Compliance Publications
  • Reasonable Care Guides, and other established Custom guidelines
  • Assists in providing technical and harmonized tariff number data required for the preparation of Binding Ruling request for submission to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and maintain supporting documentation for rulings and subsequent decisions or challenges by USCBP
  • Communicate subject matter guidance regarding the requirements and interpretation of import and export with regards to HTS classification
  • Assist in the maintenance of HTS documentation records in accordance with MOBIS directives
  • Provide robust audit trails needed to support HTS and NAFTA and to respond to inquiries from U.S. Customs or other government agencies
  • Receive and provide accurate NAFTA Traced Value Affidavit form/to customers in a timely manner
  • Comparing all the NAFTA Traced Values
  • Request the special program (KORUS) to Headquarters as new parts are being added
  • Analyze Free Trade Agreement (FTA) effect
  • Other tasks as assigned
