Description

ChampionX is seeking a temporary Material Set-up Coordinator located in Leduc, AB. This role is responsible for the configuration and management of material and product setups within the organization, ensuring accurate representation in warehouse management and production planning systems. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including marketing, finance, and production, to align product setups with business strategies, cost structures, and market demands.
The specialist will play a crucial role in managing the setup processes for materials and finished goods, liaising between departments to support financial planning and marketing strategies, and assisting in the optimization of production and planning through effective problem-solving and system configuration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge in MS Suite applications.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience in material and product management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments to support strategic goals.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Coordinate the setup of new materials in SAP, ensuring accurate data entry and classification.
  • Work closely with the procurement marketing, finance, production, and warehouse teams to ensure that material setups align with storage and handling requirements.
  • Manage the setup and configuration of production items (FST), aligning product specifications with production capabilities and market requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA, production and engineering to ensure product setup accuracy and timely completion.
  • Oversee the setup of products within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accurate location, tracking, and handling procedures are established.
  • Ensure product setup data supports efficient warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Act as the primary contact between the marketing and finance departments for product costing, pricing strategies, and market launch plans.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between departments to ensure product setups are aligned with financial goals and market strategies.
  • Provide problem-solving support to the production and planning teams, particularly in resolving issues related to product setups and material configurations.
  • Assist in the adjustment of production plans based on material availability and setup constraints.
  • Coordinate the costing process for new products and materials, ensuring accurate cost data is available for financial planning and pricing decisions.
  • Work with the finance department to update and maintain cost information in the system.
  • Manage the setup and adjustment of activity rates in the system, ensuring they accurately reflect production costs and efficiencies.
  • Analyze activity rate data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Configure and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) settings to optimize inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Collaborate with SAP Teams and production planning to ensure MRP settings support operational efficiency and responsiveness to market demands.

THIS ROLE IS A MATERNITY LEAVE COVERAGE.

  • Some work travel might be required.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.
  • Work week and shift: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
