Materials and Processes Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • Your focus will be the engineering consultancy, technical risk mitigation and assurance concerning materials and processes applied in the next generations of optical instruments
  • You will join an international team also responsible for the assessment of material and process suitability regarding their application in the space environment
  • You will review and assess manufacturing, Inspection and test methods and procedures for building and qualifying space equipment and systems
  • You will be part of the technical support teams in case of non-conformances or proposal evaluation
  • You will regularly take part in or conduct technical reviews regarding materials and processes for the building blocks of future, smart space solutions
  • You will be sharing your large expertise in the field of metals and ceramic materials

Your Qualifications

  • Phd/Master in Materials science, Metallurgy, Mechanical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a comparable qualification
  • Several years’ experience in the area of Materials and Processes Control (MMPP) in Space applications
  • Knowledge of the applicable ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards
  • Solid expertise in Metallurgy and/or Ceramic materials
  • Expertise in soldering, brazing or welding topcis are a clear advantage
  • Interdisciplinary mindset, independent and forward-looking way of working
  • Flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to work in an international team
  • Confident personality and good negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel on business
  • Fluent English and good ability to communicate in German
  • Structured, goal-oriented and self-dependent work
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
