POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the movement, storage, and organization of materials to support production, operations, and supply chain processes. This role ensures that materials are available as needed, inventory levels are maintained, and processes comply with company standards and safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications a plus.
  • Must be fluent in reading and writing in English.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to [weight capacity, e.g., 50 lbs.] regularly.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in materials coordination, logistics, or warehousing is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Material Handling and Coordination:
  • Receive, verify, and document incoming materials.
  • Distribute materials to the appropriate departments or workstations.
  • Track and update the status of materials in inventory management system.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movements.
  • Ensure storage areas are organized, and materials are easily accessible.
  • Procurement Support:
  • Communicate with the purchasing department regarding delivery schedules and material requirements.
  • Assist with placing and expediting orders for replenishment.
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Operational Support:
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials meet quantity requirements.
  • Address and resolve material-related issues that may impact production timelines.
  • Prepare materials for shipment or transfer as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies regarding material handling.
  • Inspect materials for damage and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of hazardous materials (if applicable).
  • Will be required to obtain forklift and ESD certifications.
