CORE MOLDING TECHNOLOGIES IS HIRING A MATERIALS ENGINEER TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR INNOVATIVE MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS.

In this role, you’ll work hands-on in the lab and on the production floor to evaluate materials, support product development, and help commercialize new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
• 1+ year of relevant industry experience
• Knowledge of composites and material testing
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Effective communication and time management
• Team player with hands-on mindset

• Operate lab equipment and conduct testing (tensile, flexural, physical properties)
• Analyze material data and prepare test samples for customer evaluation
• Evaluate raw materials and make formulation improvements for performance or cost
• Design, formulate, and test new composite materials to meet customer needs
• Support material trials using various molding processes (compression, RTM, vacuum infusion, etc.)
• Develop test procedures and evaluate key formulation components (resins, fillers, catalysts, etc.)
• Maintain safe lab practices, manage chemical inventory, and troubleshoot lab equipment
• Document technical findings and support specification development
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Travel as needed to support new product development and troubleshooting
