Description Purpose, Scope, Organization The Materials Handling - Lead will be responsible for material control, inventory accuracy, and support of production requirements. The Materials Handling - Lead will be working in both a warehouse setting and manufacturing environment and will be required to use computer equipment and software such as material resource planning software and Microsoft office. Additionally, the Materials handling - Lead will be responsible for the overall operation of the shipping, receiving, and inventory control departments. This position reports to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities The Materials Handling - Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Use an MRP system (ex. NetSuite, Syteline) to receive and issue material and maintain inventory accuracy. Ability to use Microsoft office applications. Perform daily cycle counts and investigate inventory inaccuracies. Generate pick lists for production work orders; pick and issue material to production work orders; and deliver orders and material to work centers. Close production workorders and redistribute material to jobs or stock locations. Maintain inventory on production floor, using two-bin systems and other inventory control methods. Create labels for material, issuance to work orders, and bin/location maintenance on the production floor. Re-assign material locations and move material as material size and quantity dictate. Ability to pick, pack, and ship both domestic and international shipments expeditiously and accurately. Ability to receive incoming material and properly store material in correct locations with efficiency and minimal errors. Must be able to crate both large and small tool systems, requiring use of various tools and ladders. Ability to use a forklift in a warehouse setting. Required to handle escalations related to inventory control. Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve inventory errors, incorrect receipts, shipment errors, etc. Must be able to implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce material handling time, and lower overall cost of operation. Coach subordinates in all aspects of job performance ensuring continual growth and positive professional development; conduct one-on-one sessions as required. Any other duties assigned by supervision. Requirements Job Requirements This position requires in-depth knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Applicants must be organized, articulate, forthright, work well under pressure and have a positive communications style. The jobholder will be required to ensure quality workmanship and promote professional behavior. Education / Technical: A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: 7+ years in a warehousing, inventory control, or shipping environment Travel: Limited
