Description Purpose, Scope, Organization The Materials Handling Level - 1 will be responsible for material control, inventory accuracy, and support of production requirements. The material handler will be working in both a warehouse setting and manufacturing environment and will be required to use computer equipment and software such as material resource planning software and Microsoft office. This position reports to the Materials Handling - Lead. Responsibilities The Materials Handling Level - 1 responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Use an MRP system (ex. NetSuite, Syteline) to receive and issue material and maintain inventory accuracy. Ability to use Microsoft office applications. Perform daily cycle counts and investigate inventory inaccuracies. Generate pick lists for production work orders; pick and issue material to production work orders; and deliver orders and material to work centers. Close production workorders and redistribute material to jobs or stock locations. Maintain inventory on production floor, using two-bin systems and other inventory control methods. Create labels for material, issuance to work orders, and bin/location maintenance on the production floor. Re-assign material locations and move material as material size and quantity dictate. Stand for long periods of time in a warehouse setting. Ability to navigate steps to mezzanine frequently throughout the day. Develop the necessary skills to be promoted to Materials Handling – Level 2. Any other duties assigned by supervision Requirements This position requires in-depth knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Applicants must be organized, articulate, forthright, work well under pressure and have a positive communications style. The jobholder will be required to ensure quality workmanship and promote professional behavior. Education / Technical: A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
