Reporting directly to the Planning and Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that the movement of materials across our site is handled correctly and those using different types of MHE are properly trained to do so.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Ensure areas are in clear control through managing presence on the factory floor.

  • Attend all meetings/briefings as deemed necessary by your line manager.

  • Take advantage of relevant training and periodic reviews of performance.

  • Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions relating to your department.

  • Control the MHE budget and report on spending.

  • Provide training support to other sites if required.

  • Be fully accountable for providing the correct material to the lines at the correct time, continuously working towards reducing the downtime caused by waiting for materials.

  • Be accountable for stock accuracy and stock rotation (FIFO) and ensuring stock is moved promptly and therefore only out of the cool chain for the minimum time required.

  • Oversee nightshift activities when required – making sure daily activities cover off nightshift requirements i.e. additional labour.

  • Implement ‘lean manufacturing processes’ which increase efficiencies and levels of productivity.
