MATERIALS, PLANNING & LOGISTICS (MP&L) MANAGER

The MP&L Manager plays a key leadership role within the plant, overseeing all functions related to materials, scheduling, customer service, shipping, and ERP systems. This position is responsible for ensuring performance metrics are met, while managing freight, inventory, and supply chain operations. The role works closely with plant leadership to implement core processes and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business goals.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field required
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with SAP required
  • Previous experience in an automotive supplier setting is require

Responsibilities
  • Lead short- and long-term production planning and scheduling activities
  • Assess and address customer capacity and capability requirements
  • Manage WIP (Work-In-Progress) and Finished Goods inventory levels
  • Support program launches, including planning and material readiness
  • Coordinate outsourcing needs for molding and inventory overflow
  • Oversee customer releases and adjust schedules as needed
  • Track and report performance metrics, including on-time delivery and expedited freight
  • Supervise daily shipping operations to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Participate in facility layout planning to support operational efficiency
  • Plan and manage physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Identify and manage obsolete or inactive inventory items
  • Oversee end-of-life planning for legacy programs and products
  • Maintain accountability for returnable packaging/dunnage tracking and purchases
  • Provide direction and support to MP&L staff (Shipping, Cart Loaders, Drivers)
  • Ensure adherence to CTPAT standards and other regulatory compliance
  • Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy and cost implications
  • Oversee ERP system integrity, performance, and related process improvements
  • Manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) configurations and transactions
  • Supervise daily workflow and performance of team members
  • Support strategic planning and department goal-setting initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving efforts across MP&L operations
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and IATF 16949 (Quality) standards
  • Foster professional, collaborative relationships across departments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
