About the Role The Materials Manager is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, distribution of supplies and medical equipment. POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Directs and coordinates material management functions. * Manages purchasing, inventory management, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies and equipment. * Maintain materials accountability systems to support hospital. * Accountable for all medical supply/services spend and resultant financial results with respect to budget/forecasting/targets. * Accountable for direct reports and their productivity. * Accountable for building and maintaining relationships with peer department heads and administrative leadership teams. * Represents Supply Chain in various committees and meetings. * Directs product conversion efforts for the site. * Accountable for meeting Supply Chain measures of success related to spend/inventory/HR/customer satisfaction. * Responsible for continuous improvement of material flow, utilization analysis and supply chain optimization. * Charged to continually develop hospital identified savings prospects and exploit known opportunities. * Set clear goals and expectations; provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. * Develop talent through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives. * Promote a collaborative and engaging work environment that aligns with company values. * Manage conflict and make timely decisions to maintain team focus and performance. * Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development conversations. * Approve timecards, schedules, time-off requests, and other administrative HR functions. * Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety regulations. * Other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Associate Degree Business Administration or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. * Bachelors’ Degree Business Administration preferred. * A minimum five years’ experience in a Materials Management supervisory capacity.
