JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Materials Manager
Department: Packaging & Automation
Reports to: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000
SUMMARY
The Materials Manager is responsible for procurement, supply chain planning, warehouse & inventory management, and quality control in the build and installation/support of packaging machinery and related equipment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Engineering understanding of machined and fabricated parts as well as understanding machinery and electrical assembly practices.
- Familiarization of lean practices and methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel) with emphasis in spreadsheet development and ERP functionality. Microsoft Great Plains ERP experience desired
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role.
- Results-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, professional etiquette, customer-service-oriented with the demonstrated ability to lead, coach and inspire others to the same behaviors.
- Analytical thinker and passion for root-cause problem solving.
- Works effectively, collaboratively, and respectfully in a team environment. Comfortable in cross-functional roles.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to synthesize complete information and perform fact-based problem solving
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- +5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management in a design-to-build environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering or supply chain and equivalent work experience.
- Strong negotiator and experience in procurement procedures, planning, and inventory management.
- Successful experience leading teams
