Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain management, inventory management or a related field using ERP systems (preferable AS400) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred: Experience manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

CORE PURPOSE

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials required for production. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to maintain optimal production schedules and meet customer demands

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchase Orders: Generate long terms suppliers forecast and process purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure accurate documentation.
Suppliers: Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve any supply chain issues, and negotiate terms as needed.
Group Procurement: Follow Group procurement strategy and policies and coordinates with the group planning team to ensure products managed by them arrive on time for production while optimizing inventory levels.
Reworks: Coordinates that product conversion and reworks are completed and on time by placing rework orders making sure that raw materials are readily available and movement of Finished goods occurs to satisfy customer and production planning demand.
NPI/NPD: Liaise with NPI/NPD and the Production Planner to ensure that the run in / run out of any SKU or material is seamless.
Logistics: Works closely with the logistics team to ensure goods are booked on time and balance deliveries and inventories versus warehouse capabilities and space.
Production Scheduling: Collaborate with production teams to develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring materials are available when needed.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, internal and external locations to ensure adequate supply of materials and highlighting shortages impacting production while minimizing excess stock.
Data Analysis: Analyse inventory data and production forecasts to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and improve supply chain efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and implement best practices.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory status, supplier performance, and purchase order status for management review.
