JOB DESCRIPTION

The Materials Planner provides critical administrative support to facilitate the launch and wrap up of the production planning process. This position is also responsible for providing timely data analysis, reports and graphs that enable improved decision making for the Materials Management and Operations teams. This role will work closely with production planning, supply chain members and managers as well as external vendors in a time sensitive and deadline driven environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Creation of work orders in ERP (Axiom) system
  • Verify completion of and release completed work orders to the Production and other stakeholders
  • Close work orders in ERP (Axiom) system
  • Ensure all supporting documents and job packet are accurate and in order; troubleshoot and investigate any missing or inaccurate data.
  • Manage Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Cycle Counts on Materials and report large discrepancies for further review/analysis.
  • Maintain Stock Job Report, adding new orders and verifying stock status with Inventory Report
  • Support with Ship Requests for Quotes
  • Identify and manage process improvement and cost reduction projects throughout the plant.
  • Conduct routine maintenance in the Axiom MRP system to include maintenance of revised delivery dates, and schedule changes

Requirements

  • Please note: This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years prior work experience in support of manufacturing and/or distribution center processes in materials and/or production scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of Axiom and/or Ignition preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Reliable customer service orientation with a positive outlook and can-do attitude to support departmental and company goals
  • Excellent prioritization and decision-making skills
