Description The Materials Team Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical purchasing strategies to support the supply chain function. This role provides leadership and direction to the inventory team, ensuring operational effectiveness, supplier performance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Support supply chain and order management activities to drive operational efficiency. Lead, mentor, and develop the inventory team with a focus on roles, responsibilities, standard work, cycle counting, and part planning. Ensure supplier and purchase order accuracy in ERP; update and maintain master data as required. Resolve supply disruptions and implement supplier risk mitigation strategies. Lead supplier performance recovery efforts; conduct supplier delivery performance reviews internally and with suppliers. Support supplier negotiations and manage mitigation of price increase threats. Drive supplier and production line readiness for product launches; coordinate with R&D as needed. Review new parts and execute launch readiness initiatives. Guide supply chain and inventory optimization initiatives to improve material flow, reduce waste, and capture value. Manage inventory turns and negotiate minimum order quantities (MOQs) to optimize capital utilization. Assist with forecasting purchasing trends. Analyze current processes, recommend improvements, and influence organizational change. Manage assigned supplier accounts to ensure on-time delivery and quality goals. Oversee end-of-life processes and ensure inventory accuracy. Negotiate with vendors and build positive, long-term relationships. Requirements Education & Experience Associate’s degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong computer skills, including: Microsoft Office Suite & Epicor (ERP) Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Travel Requirements Up to 5% travel to local suppliers. Physical Requirements Ability to lift at least 25 lbs, and up to 50 lbs for short periods.
