Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for our Maternity Services Department.    Nurse Managers coordinate activities between defined areas and provide clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.  For the maternity center nurse manager the defined area are LDR, 3N Women’s Unit, Mother Baby Unit, the MOMS program as well as any and all clinical services that are performed in these areas.  The nurse manager facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others.  Nurse Managers serve as a link between nursing personnel and other healthcare disciplines and workers throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. It is imperative that the nurse manager and his/her team within the maternity center have collaborative relationships with the providers that deliver clinical services related to the areas within the Maternity Center. Nurse Managers have major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidence-based practice, and standards of the organization, and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility.   Nurse Managers are accountable for the environment in which clinical nursing is practiced.  The nurse manager must create a learning environment that is open and respectful, and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes.  The ability of the nurse manager to enhance the practice environment is critical to the recruitment and retention of registered nurses with diverse backgrounds and appropriate education and experience.  Nurse managers contribute to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations, standards of care, and attainment of goals of the organization.  Nurse managers collaborate with the nurse executive and others in organizational planning, innovation, and evaluation. Qualifications Education: * High School diploma or equivalent is required * AS/Diploma/Regency degree is required * Bachelor's degree Nursing or other healthcare specialty is preferred * Master's degree Nursing or other healthcare specialty is preferred * Maintains hospital required certifications is required * Current license in West Virginia/Compact state is required * Maintains required CE’s for licensure is required * Certification Specialty is preferred * CPR is required * Maintains hospital & unit based required certifications/competencies/courses is required Experience: * Minimum of 3 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience required - including 2 years of LDR and 1 year of postpartum experience.  The kind of position-related experience includes: -Demonstrated leadership and management abilities -Demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately and effectively -Experience in effectively dealing with the public -Knowledge and skill in management of patient care required -Demonstrated skill in problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making
