OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working with students of various ages and skill levels, providing personalized instruction in a supportive and engaging environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience in English (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario English curriculum (Grades 6–12)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and supportive manner
  • Experience working with youth in educational settings is an asset
  • Familiarity with special education approaches is a plus
  • Comfort using technology for online tutoring sessions
  • Passionate about helping students improve their language skills and build confidence

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and skill development in subjects such as English, mathematics, and foreign languages.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary to ensure understanding and retention of material.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
