STEMstein Academy is a growing STEM education centre in Mississauga, Ontario, dedicated to inspiring students through engaging, hands-on learning. We offer programs in Mathematics, Science, Coding, Robotics, and Engineering for students from elementary school through high school.

Position Overview

STEMstein Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced Math & Science Teacher to join our team.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) or hold Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) certification, with relevant Canadian teaching or tutoring experience.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Mathematics and Science lessons while adapting instruction to meet the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics and Science to students in Grades 1–8, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
  • Use age-appropriate teaching strategies to make concepts clear and engaging.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, activities, participation, and regular feedback.
  • Adapt instruction to accommodate different learning styles and individual student needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support when required.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
  • Maintain attendance, lesson plans, student progress records, and other classroom documentation.
  • Incorporate technology and digital learning tools into instruction.
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to enhance curriculum delivery and student learning experiences.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving, and a genuine interest in Mathematics and Science.

Qualifications & RequirementsRequired / Preferred Qualifications

  • Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation – strongly preferred.
  • Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) certification – candidates with relevant teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with students in the Canadian or Ontario education system is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum, assessment practices, and classroom expectations.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Education, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience teaching or tutoring Mathematics and/or Science.
  • Experience working with students from Grades 1–8 is an asset.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs or special education is an asset.
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
  • Passionate about helping students succeed in a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
