Academy of Modern Art (AOMA) is a Vancouver based art education institution committed to guiding students in art and design as they transition to their chosen post-secondary schools. We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated dedicated educator to instructor in our math courses.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and qualified part-time Math Instructor to teach BC Curriculum Math Grade 8 - 12, AP Calculus, AP Precalculus, AP Statistics, SAT Math. This role is a part time fixed contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience with BC High School Math, AP Calculus, AP Precalculus, AP Statistics & SAT Math.
  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field with BC teaching certificate is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of course learning outcomes.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and education.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with teenagers.
  • Commitment to working with honesty and integrity.
  • Punctuality, organizational skills, and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Strong proficiency in English.
  • Availability on weekdays after 4pm or on Saturdays.
  • Must provide a criminal check as required in British Columbia when teaching children, youth and at-risk adults.
    Job Type: Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 12 months
    Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

Responsibilities
  • Teach in person (preferred) and online private and small groups and provide support for students’ homework inquiries.
  • Collaborate with a Teaching Assistants to follow up on students’ homework completion and corrections.
  • Attend periodical meetings with the head instructor to ensure the teaching plan is executed on time.
  • Teach for approximately 10-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options on weekdays after 4pm or on Saturdays.
