Icefield Tools Corporation (ITC) has operated in Whitehorse, known as the “Wilderness City”, for more than 25 years. ITC develops and manufactures directional surveying and steering products for clients around the globe. Our specialty is the development and manufacturing of gyroscopic inertial navigation systems.
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with exceptional mathematical expertise to lead algorithm development for our next-generation navigation systems. This role focuses on creating, optimizing and implementing algorithms to enhance sensor performance and system accuracy, contributing to our mission of delivering industry-leading solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience in algorithm development for signal processing, control systems, or sensor fusion.
· Strong proficiency in mathematical modeling, including linear algebra, calculus, probability, and numerical optimization.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar for algorithm development and simulation.
· Experience with embedded systems and real-time processing is an asset.
· Familiarity with inertial navigation systems or sensor technologies is a plus.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into embedded systems for real-time applications.
· Conduct simulations, modeling, and testing to validate algorithm performance under various operational conditions.
· Analyze and compensate for sensor limitations to achieve high precision in compact hardware.
· Document algorithm designs, test results, and implementation processes for internal and external stakeholders.
· Stay updated on advancements in algorithm development, signal processing, and control systems to drive innovation.
