Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable tutor to support a Grade 4 student in math and writing. This is an in-person position based in Alliston, ON. The student benefits from structured literacy approaches, so tutors with training or experience in the Orton–Gillingham (OG) method or similar evidence-based reading and writing programs are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging 1-on-1 tutoring in math and writing at the Grade 4 level
  • Apply Orton–Gillingham or structured literacy techniques to support reading and writing development
  • Use clear, systematic methods to help a student with dyslexia/learning differences
  • Create a positive, encouraging learning environment
  • Track progress and share updates with parents as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience tutoring or teaching elementary math and writing (Grade 4 level)
  • Training in or familiarity with the Orton–Gillingham approach (or other structured literacy programs)
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • Reliable for consistent in-person sessions in Alliston, ON
