Math Facilitator (Focus on grade 3 & 6)
This position is available immediately, for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will receive a responsibility allowance as per the appropriate Collective Agreement.

DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education, the Math Facilitator will:

  • Support student learning in priority schools in grades 3 and 6 classrooms.
  • Support math academic achievement efforts in alignment with the school and board improvement goals and actions.
  • Provide in-class facilitation to strengthen math knowledge and pedagogy.
  • Share resources and effective practices.
  • Collaborate with classroom educators to identify students’ strengths, needs and determine appropriate strategies, accommodations and/or interventions.
  • Work directly with students who require additional support by using high-impact and early intervention strategies.
  • Attend sessions offered by the Ministry of Education to share practices and progress toward achievement efforts and results.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Board Math Achievement Action Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Primary and Junior basic qualifications
  • One additional basic or additional qualification in Mathematics is a preferred qualification
  • Special Education is a preferred qualification

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have an understanding and appreciation for the principles of equity and inclusive education across all facets of practice.
  • An awareness and experience with assessments that inform instruction.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • An awareness and understanding of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Superior communication skills, initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Proven leadership skills, the ability to resolve conflict, collaborate, develop learning partnerships and influence change.
  • Experience and independence with planning and facilitating adult learning, professional development, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and model differentiated instruction (DI) and universal design for learning (UDL).
  • Strong collaboration, coordination, coaching and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver`s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
