Math Facilitator, Focus on Grades 3, 6 and 9
This position is available September 2, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will receive a responsibility allowance as per the appropriate Collective Agreement.

DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education, the Math Facilitator will:

  • Work in classrooms to provide explicit Mathematics instruction in K-8 classrooms;
  • Model effective explicit classroom-based mathematics instruction (tier 1) and early intervention programming (tier 2 instruction);
  • Support mathematics screening, data collection, and pedagogical documentation to inform instructional next steps;
  • Demonstrate initiative in developing and implementing the Math Achievement Action Plan, in consultation with the Superintendent of Education and other appropriate team members;
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning and support for educators that integrates effective pedagogical practices that meet the Ontario curriculum expectations, develop students’ global competencies, and promote Catholic values;
  • Support student growth and learning by modelling curriculum and program implementation in classrooms and coaching educators through job embedded professional development;
  • Foster positive relationships, communication, and collaboration with school teams;
  • Support implementation of the Ontario Mathematics curriculum, High-Impact Instructional Practices in Mathematics and Growing Success;
  • Evaluate and support the development and implementation of curriculum materials for educator use;
  • Support innovation and learning across the K- 8 continuum; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have two of the three basic qualifications (Primary/Junior/Intermediate Qualifications)
  • One additional basic or additional qualification in Mathematics is a preferred qualification
  • Special Education is a preferred qualification

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have an understanding and appreciation for the principles of equity and inclusive education across all facets of practice;
  • An awareness and experience with assessments that inform instruction.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • An awareness and understanding of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Superior communication skills, initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Proven leadership skills, the ability to resolve conflict, collaborate, develop learning partnerships and influence change.
  • Experience and independence with planning and facilitating adult learning, professional development, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and model differentiated instruction (DI) and universal design for learning (UDL).
  • Strong collaboration, coordination, coaching and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
