Description

We are looking for a number of passionate Maths Lecturers to join the team here at Bradford College and contribute to our mission of Transforming Lives.
The successful candidate will primarily teach Functional Skills and GSCE Maths to learners aged 16-19 and be instrumental in helping our learners to achieve their full potential.
We welcome applications from NQTs for this position.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Maths degree, or, relevant degree with a Level 5 Maths subject specialism
  • Level 5 teaching qualification or working towards this qualification.
  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of GCSE Maths and Functional Skills delivery
  • Experience of effectively using educational ILT
  • Experience of delivering FE including assessment
  • Experience of adopting a data driven approach to improving learning, teaching & assessment
  • Experience of delivering outstanding learning & teaching
  • Experience of community delivery

Responsibilities
  • To teach on courses specified by the Head of Department/Team Leader.
  • To participate actively in the development of curriculum; and where appropriate in cross College marketing activities.
  • To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
  • To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
  • To be responsible to the Head of Department/Team Leader for student discipline, counselling and guidance relating to all assigned classes.
  • To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
  • To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
