Description Activities Assistant - Memory Care Department Grand Villa of Sarasota is dedicated to providing compassionate and engaging care for our residents. We are currently seeking a friendly and motivated Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our Memory Care team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents by facilitating engaging activities and promoting a positive, supportive environment. The position requires some weekend availability and is ideal for individuals passionate about recreational therapy and enhancing quality of life for seniors. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and cognitive abilities - Support residents in participating in activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical well-being - Collaborate with staff and family members to develop individualized activity plans - Monitor and document residents' participation and response to activities - Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during all activities - Assist with setting up activity spaces and ensuring all materials are prepared and accessible Skills and Qualifications: - Previous experience in recreational therapy, activities coordination, or a related field is a plus - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Flexibility to work some weekends - Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging seniors in meaningful activities - Basic understanding of memory care and cognitive impairments is preferred At Grand Villa of Sarasota, we foster a warm, inclusive culture that values growth, teamwork, and the well-being of our residents.
