Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement a comprehensive life enrichment program tailored to residents with dementia and memory impairments. - Facilitate recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. - Assess individual resident needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans. - Collaborate with care staff and family members to ensure activities align with residents’ health and emotional needs. - Lead and supervise activity staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure high-quality program delivery. - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed to maximize resident engagement. - Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress. - Stay informed about best practices and innovative approaches in memory care and therapeutic recreation. Skills and Qualifications: - Proven experience in activity programming within senior living, memory care, or related healthcare settings. - Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other cognitive impairments. - Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to develop creative, engaging, and therapeutic activities tailored to diverse resident needs. - Certification in recreational therapy, activity director, or related field preferred. - Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing residents’ quality of life. - Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families. - Organizational skills and attention to detail.
